About Crew Ensemble
Our Mission, Simply Stated: Crew’s mission is to build bridges between individuals and their goals through opportunities in the performing arts.
Founder/Artistic Director:
Karin Hendrickson holds an undergraduate degree in Piano Performance from Grove City College, PA as well as a Masters Degree in Conducting from George Mason University, VA. Ms. Hendrickson was also a Music Fellow at Oxford University, England, where she studied Early Performance Practice and the Emergence of Instrumental Music in Renaissance England.
As a conductor, Ms. Hendrickson has performed at the Spoleto Festival (Charleston, South Carolina), at the Hot Springs Music Festival (Hot Springs, Arkansas), with the Rose City Chamber Orchestra in Portland, Oregon, among others, and in this past year has been named Assistant Conductor for both Choralis and the Prince William Symphony Orchestra. Upcoming performances will include conducting the Naples Philharmonic (Florida) and the Kalamazoo Symphony (Michigan).
Ms. Hendrickson composed music for the 2002 Olympic Games in Salt Lake City (recorded on NBC Records by Aretha Franklin) and incidental music for Theatre Westminster in Pennsylvania. She has been invited to participate in songwriting workshops held by the Nashville Songwriters Association and BMI. In February, Ms. Hendrickson will be the pianist/accompanist in the premiere of another composer's new vocal work in conjunction with the Friday Morning Music Club.
Ms. Hendrickson has taught music classes for middle school, high school, college, and at the Osher Institute for Continuing Education. She has conducted school-aged ensembles in District and Regional settings in Virginia and Pennsylvania.
