You're ready for that next professional step. Let's see what you've got!
Auditions are held in mid-September. Numbers are selected to fill the entire orchestra for the upcoming concerts, and also to have available a short-list of alternate players. Audition winners will be contracted on a per service basis. In the event that a contracted player can not play a concert, an alternate will be called. Players may not necessarily be contracted to play every programmed concert.
One concert service usually requires three rehearsal services. Services are 3 hours long.
To audition, an individual must be a full-time undergraduate music student, or a Masters student in music within the first two years of their degree.
A form filled out by the student's private teacher or primary ensemble conductor must be turned in at the audition or faxed in advance.
