Crew Ensemble is a professional training orchestra for the finest collegiate instrumentalists in the metropolitan Washington D.C. area.

Don’t let anyone fool you.
Music and athletics are exactly alike.
You need talent, dedication, and passion.
Then you need hours, days, weeks, years of highly skilled practice.
You need to work out your muscles, training and refining their motions.
You need the constitution to keep practicing when you think you’ve had enough.
You need the awareness and maturity that allows you to make good instinctive decisions.
You need excellent teammates.
And then you need a great coach.

Filling a need in the tri-state area, the orchestra engages the nation’s best conductors and provides concert opportunities for exceptionally talented collegiate players to come together and train under these outstanding musical leaders.

Crew Ensemble provides scholarship money to those students who win a chair in the orchestra. Chairs are awarded through a panel audition, and all money is earned on a per-concert basis.

Crew Ensemble concerts are free and open to the public.
